Neighbors Who Disappeared - US Tour
Panel: Varnsdorf

Varnsdorf

In their own words...

"It all started with the Neighbors Who Disappeared project, which involved us and many other schools. We know that 211 Jews used to live in Varnsdorf [before WWII], so we went to Terezin [concentration camp] to explore what happened to them."

Varnsdorf - Detail

"During his stay in Terezin, [the painter] Peter Kien was deputy head in the art room of the Jewish self-government Technical Office. In his spare time he drew still-life and scenes from the Terezin camp, using stolen drawing materials."
