Neighbors Who Disappeared - US Tour

Prague

In their own words...

"Only recently my father learned from my grandfather's friends that he comes from a Jewish family. Unfortunately, this information is fragmentary, only assembled from several preserved documents, as this topic has been taboo in my father's family until recently. My grandfather is not alive, and my grandmother is scarred from the past. She has never spoken about it, and she does not want to be reminded of it anymore."

"My gradmother was born on June 3, 1913, in Szeged, Hungary. In the spring 1944, the deportation transports of Hungarian Jews to the concentration camps began. My grandmother was dragged off for forced labor in Germany."

Prague - Detail

"My great-gradmother Erzebet probably went directly to the gas chamber. According to the death certificate, issued after the war in Szeged, she died on July 15, 1944, at the age of 53."
