Mastov

In their own words...

"I have described everything my grandfather, who has been writing about the history of our region and has a lot of documents and notes in his archive, told me about."

Mastov - Detail

"Wedding photograph of the Fantls from 1951. There is Mr. Fantl, a Jew who due to his origin and religion went through the concentration camp. Next to him sits his wife Anna Fantlova, a German from a mixed Czech-German family. Two witnesses: Mr. Vaclav Sima, a Czech who escaped from Mastov with his parents after Munich 1938, and who came back again, and next to him Mr. Houzvic, a Czech from Volyne fought against the Nazis in the Polish Army and who returned to Bohemia, a country his forefathers left a long time ago. In one photograph, there is an international company of people who understood each other."
